- First of all you must melt some pieces of wax using a boiler or any other pot you find appropriate. The molds and wicks must be prepared, I recommend the use of wick tabs. While the wax is melting keep an eye on it, use a thermometer eventually to see if the wax (paraffin) has reached 180 F. If the appropriate temperature has been reached you can now drop the colorant, to make it more interesting.
